This extension enables the tracking of community members that have been brought in by a specific online marketer. This tracking then allows the online marketer to be rewarded.

Online marketers are encouraged to get contributors to join the MIKE2.0 site as paid community members. They are paid a set percentage of the joining free for each subscriber as well as an incentive contribution for active contributors. For example they would get 5% of the $50 joining fee for an individual member and an additional 5% if they reach a contribution score of 100 as defined in the Contribution Score model.

• Users that register would be responsible for assigning which marketer attracted them to the site
  
• Users would assign the marketer during registration or during a 30-day window after they first sign up
  
• There will be multiple marketers for the site
  
• Marketers would be selected from a drop down list
  
• An administrative page should be available where payments can be flagged
  

Design considerations

• Ideally some form of automation could be made with the payments system but this would be a future implementation step
  
• Dollar amounts can be shown on the site to attract promoters

• This would be a mediawiki extension that is available as a sidebar portlet and in the registration box on signup
